6-week Beginner Wheel Throwing Course is the perfect way to get your hands dirty and dive into the world of clay! Whether you're totally new or just want to try something different, this course will teach you the basics so you can turn a lump of clay into your own handmade pieces. Course Details: 🗓️ Start Date: May 20 until June 24 2025 Tuesday evenings, once a week, for 2 hours, over 6 weeks ⏰ Time: 6pm – 8pm 📍 Location: Beyond Pottery, Burlington, ON 👩‍🏫 Instructor: Lauren Sinett 👥 Suitable for: Complete beginners—no prior experience needed 🎨 Includes: Clay, tools, glazes, and kiln firings What You’ll Learn: ✔️ Everything you need to know about clay ✔️ Centering and shaping clay on the wheel ✔️ Creating basic forms like bowls and cylinders ✔️ Trimming and refining your pottery ✔️ Glazing and surface decorating techniques to add color and finish your pieces Who Can Join? This workshop is perfect for complete beginners, aged 18 and up. For younger participants, reach out to inquire about teen and children’s courses. Pro Tips for Success: ✨ Avoid wearing jewelry or having long nails—they can get in the way ✨ Bring an apron or an old t-shirt and a towel Pick-Up Information: Your pieces will typically be fired during the course.
